Plot Outline: Homers epic poem "The Odyssey", set in the deep south during the 1930s. In it, three escaped convicts search for hidden treasure while a relentless lawman pursues them.
Plot: Loosely based on Homers Odyssey the movie deals with the grotesque adventures of Everett Ulysses McGill and his companions Delmar and Pete in 1930s Mississipi. Sprung from a chain gang and trying to reach Everetts home to recover the buried loot of a bank heist they are confronted by a series of strange characters. Among them sirens, a cyclops, bankrobber George Babyface Nelson (very annoyed by that nickname), a campaigning Governor, his opponent, a KKK lynch mob, and a blind prophet, who warns the trio that "the treasure you seek shall not be the treasure you find."

Crazy Credits: We know about 2 Crazy Credits. One of them reads:
The credit for Alan J. Schoolcraft, the president of operations for Mike Zoss Productions, is all in Spanish: "El Encargado de Mike Zoss Productions"

Goofs: We know about 42 goofs. Here comes one of them:
Audio/visual unsynchronized: The people singing along with "You Are My Sunshine" near the end are clearly a few beats off. Their clapping syncs up but theyre singing a different line.

Trivia: There are 35 entries in the trivia list - like these:
    • The title is taken from the title of the film the director wants to make in Preston Sturges Sullivans Travels (1941).
    • George Clooney agreed to do this film without having read the script.
    • The whole film was graded digitally on computer. The negative was scanned in with a Spirit Datacine at 2K resolution and then colors were digitally fine-tuned. The process took several weeks. The resulting digital master was output on film again with a Kodak laser recorder to create a print master. It was the first time this had been done for a whole film in Hollywood (but not in other countries).
